This Privacy Policy explains how Vellora Smart Kid Private Limited ("VSmartKid", "we", "our", or "us") collects, uses, shares, and protects information when you use the VSmartKid mobile application, the website vsmartkid.com, our admin/teacher panel, and our STEM learning programs and kits (together, the "Service"). By using the Service, or by a parent/guardian enrolling a child, you agree to this Policy.

1. Information we collect

1.1 Information you (or a parent/school) provide

• Enrolment & account details — student name, parent/guardian name, email, mobile number, password, class, batch, school, board/syllabus, course chosen, and profile photo (optional).
• Demo & enquiry details — when you book a free demo or use the website contact form: name, father's/guardian's name, mobile number (verified via OTP), email, class, school, and syllabus.
• Shipping details — postal address used to deliver physical STEM kits.
• Learning activity — videos watched, quiz attempts and scores, live-class attendance, bookmarks, and 1-on-1 doubt-clarification bookings.
• Support & communications — messages you send us by app, email, phone, or WhatsApp.
• Payment details — transaction status, amount, and timestamps. Card/bank details are processed by our payment gateway and are not stored by us.

1.2 Information collected automatically

• Device & login info — operating system, app version, browser/OS for web logins, a device identifier and human-readable device label (used to enforce single-device login and to show a login-activity log to administrators), and push-notification tokens.
• Usage & diagnostics — screens viewed, features used, and crash reports, collected via Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics to operate and improve the Service.
• Live-class participation — meeting join time, duration, and attendance (via Zoom).

2. How we use information

• Create and manage accounts, deliver classes, kits, videos, quizzes, and reports.
• Verify mobile numbers using one-time passwords (OTP) sent by SMS via Firebase Authentication.
• Schedule demos, respond to enquiries, and provide customer support.
• Send class reminders, results, marksheets, and service messages by app notification, email, and WhatsApp.
• Process payments and maintain billing records.
• Secure the Service (e.g., single-device login, abuse/fraud prevention) and fix problems.
• Comply with legal obligations.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use children's information for behavioural advertising.

3. Legal bases

We process personal data on the basis of consent (including parental consent for children), performance of our contract with you, our legitimate interests in operating and securing the Service, and compliance with law (including India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023).

We share information only with service providers who process it on our behalf, under contract, and only as needed to run the Service:

We may also disclose information to comply with law, enforce our Terms, or protect the rights and safety of our users and others. If our business is transferred, information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to this Policy.

5. Data retention

We keep personal data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service, and thereafter only as required for legitimate business or legal purposes. OTP verification records are short-lived. When you delete your account, we delete or anonymise your personal data as described in Section 8, except records we must retain by law (e.g., tax/payment records).

6. Security

We use industry-standard safeguards including encryption in transit, access controls, single-device login, signed/expiring video links, and screen-recording protection inside the app. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work to protect your data.

7. Children's privacy & parental consent

VSmartKid is intended for school students and is used by children with parental/guardian or school involvement. We require that a parent, guardian, or authorised school representative provides consent for a child's enrolment and account. Parents/guardians may review their child's information, request corrections, or request deletion at any time by contacting us at support@vsmartkid.com. We collect only the information needed to deliver education to the child and do not serve behavioural ads to children. If you believe a child's data was collected without proper consent, contact us and we will promptly delete it.

8. Your rights & how to delete your data

Subject to applicable law, you (or a parent/guardian on a child's behalf) may access, correct, or delete personal data, withdraw consent, or object to certain processing.

• In-app: open the app → Profile → "Delete my account".
• By email: write to support@vsmartkid.com from your registered email with the subject "Delete my account". We verify and process deletion requests within 30 days.

Account deletion removes your profile and associated learning data from active systems, except information we must retain to comply with law.

9. International users

We operate from India. If you access the Service from outside India, your information may be processed in India and other countries where our providers operate.

10. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version here with a new "Last updated" date and, where appropriate, notify you in the app.
